Ribbon Cutting & ground breaking ceremonies are a free service that we provide to Chamber Members only. These events offer new business the chance to invite members, the Board of Directors, Diplomats, and City and County officials to their location as well as speak about their business.
ABOUT THE CAC:
The non-profit Cultural Arts Council, begun in 1986, provides exhibits, arts education, and concerts for the public as well as organizing the two community favorite festivals, Chili Cook-Off and Taste of Douglasville. In 2016, over 27,000 people participated in CAC events. What's new in 2017 is the "Pop Up Arts Shop." The CAC is now offering a one-month stay to local artists and craftspeople to sell their wares at teh CAC House. Each vendor will be a solo seller for their month. Think of it as an incubator experience for artists and craftspeople seeking a wider market and experimenting with the non-festival selling experience. The "Pop Up Arts Shop" will open April 3, 2017 and is already booked through March 2018. All items in the "Pop Up Arts Shop" are under $75. The CAC is open Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm. First vendor Mary Lou Bailey-Funk, with her small paintings, soda can pins and recycled cards turned into gift boxes.
