This position provides administrative support for the college’s academic division of Mathematics and Computer Science.

Key Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years
Key Responsibilities
  • Answers telephone; greets visitors; provides information and assistance; and takes messages and refers to appropriate staff/faculty
  • Types correspondences; schedules appointments; maintains electronic calendar and contact list for Dean and faculty; maintains files; enters job postings; and picks up and delivers mail
  • Enters class schedules into database; and updates and revises class schedules as appropriate
  • Assists in the student registration and drop/add process
  • Responsible for canceling courses due to low enrollment or other issues; notifies students of cancelled classes, time or comment changes; and assists students with schedule changes due to cancellations
  • Retrieves student information and class rosters for faculty
  • Assists student and faculty members with academic forms and contacts faculty concerning missing/ non-reported data
  • Creates and codes all math credit level and learning support in the Banner software system
  • Enters all instructor names for courses along with required comments and information into Banner after courses are created each semester
  • Orders, organizes, and maintains an inventory of supplies for faculty
  • Obtains and enters data on book order information by course; and maintains files with appropriate information for posting on Math webpage site
  • Attends division meetings and records minutes of meetings
  • Prepares requisitions
  • Maintains division records and course syllabi files
  • Maintains and updates faculty directory
  • Assists in developing and monitoring the division budget; and maintains purchasing records
  • Assists faculty with travel forms and documentation
