Position:   Financial Aid Coordinator
Location:  Coweta Campus
Division/Department:  Administrative Affairs/Financial Aid
Report to:  Director of Financial Aid
FLSA Designation:  Exempt (works 40 or more hours per week on campus)
Hours:  Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet customer needs
Nature of Duties: The Financial Aid Coordinator reports to the Director of Financial Aid.  The financial aid coordinator will provide secondary leadership within the financial aid department. This position is responsible for interpreting federal and state regulations as it pertains to the awarding/verification process; assisting students, parents, and internal customers with the policies and procedures relating to financial aid; assisting in the awarding and invoicing of state programs; developing  communications, forms and presentations in relation to financial aid eligibility requirements.  Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of federal and state awarding.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree *and* Two (2) years related work experience
    Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years related experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Experience with State programs including HOPE and Dual Enrollment awarding
  • Experience financial aid systems including Surfer, NSLDS
  • Strong communication skills
  • Prior experience with the development of financial aid training for entry level/call center staff
 
Salary/Benefits: Based on qualifications; Benefits include 12 paid state holidays, 10 hours per month earned for vacation and sick, state retirement benefits, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
