Position:                      Financial Aid Technician
Location:                    Carroll Campus
Department:               Student Affairs
Reports to:                  Financial Aid Coordinator
FLSA Designation:     Non-exempt – 40 hours per week
 
Nature of Duties:  The Financial Aid Technician is responsible for performing administrative, clerical and customer service duties in support of student financial aid services.  Duties include greeting visitors and answers telephone; disseminating general financial aid information to students and the general public;
providing information regarding the financial aid resources available to students and parents; evaluating financial aid applications and supporting documents for accuracy, clarity and completeness to determine basic eligibility for financial aid; updating appropriate BANNER screens related to document intake process; and instructing students in correct procedures for completing forms and applications, special requirements and restrictions, and supporting documentation.   Travel between campuses may be required.
 
Minimum Qualifications:  
            High School diploma or GED *and* One (1) year of work related experience
 
Preferred Qualifications:      
  • 2 years of previous experience in Financial Aid;
  • Working familiarity with applicable federal and state regulations and TCSG regulations and procedures;
  • Proficiency  with Banner and Microsoft office products;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Able to work effectively with a diverse populations;
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.
 
Salary/Benefits: Based on Qualifications. Benefits include paid state holidays, vacation, retirement, personal and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
