Building Inspections
 
Heating and Air Conditioning Inspector   
Full Time

This is technical and routine work responsible for conducting residential and commercial building inspections to determine compliance with all uniform heating and air-conditioning codes and ordinances. Work involves explaining county building codes and ordinances and corrective requirements to property owners, developers, contractors and the general public.  Work also involves making independent technical decisions enforcing state and county building codes and ordinances.
 
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED, supplemented by college level or vocational course work in a related field
  • Minimum five years of professional experience as a heating and air conditioning inspector or a closely related field
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Georgia HVAC unrestricted license
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Must have and maintain a valid United States Driver's License (Class C),a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) and the ability and willingness to drive a county vehicle; if assigned job duties require the use of a vehicle
  • Minimum 21 years of age
 
Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Physical/Drug Screen/MVR and Background Investigation.
 
Salary minimum:  $33,833.90 annually ($16.26 hourly) based on qualifications and experience, plus full benefits package
