Membership Sales Representative

The Douglas County Chamber is seeking an individual whose primary focus is dedicated to Chamber Member/Investor satisfaction and loyalty, through ensuring interactions meet the needs of our diverse investors by managing membership life cycles. This position is responsible for seeking new investors and maintaining ongoing relationships that encourage strategic engagement as investors approach renewal for their membership. The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative, and passionate about all sectors of business and relationship engagement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identify and prospect, develop, and sell new Chamber memberships across the Douglas region

- Actively seek newly opened businesses and follow up appropriately

- Leverage DCC Introductory Membership to convert to paying investor and/or sponsor

- Develop sales presentation and schedule personal visits for the purpose of recruiting new investors

- Build and nurture relationships with prospective and existing members through in person visits, calls, and personal notes

- Achieve budgeted revenue goals

- Manage prospective investors in CRM database

- Maintain knowledge of goals, objectives, and services provided by the organization including member benefits, Chamber events, etc.

- Coordinate with DCC team members to onboard new investors

- Solicit sponsors for signature and networking events, manage sponsor renewals, and coordinate sponsorship fulfillment with Events Manager

- Produce monthly new member orientation events to further engage current and potential investors/members

- Assist investors in taking full advantage of their membership benefits and programs

- Maintain knowledge base of trends in Chamber membership

- Support and participate in Chamber events and programs to strengthen network to ultimately build investor/member retention and increase non-dues revenue in partnership with Chamber team members

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

§ Minimum 2 years of previous or current sales experience, preferably in Chamber or related environment

§ Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, ability to interact with senior level business leaders

§ Ability to prospect/cold-call new businesses and to upgrade and sell major clients.

§ Excellent business correspondence skills-both written and spoken to clients, stakeholders, and internal departments

§ Knowledge of revenue management

§ Willingness to take enthusiastic ownership of producing revenue, innovating processes and bringing ideas to fruition for growth

§ Ability to effectively present information and clearly respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, investors and the general public

§ Community awareness and buy in to how membership organizations and the relationships built there can transform businesses and communities

§ Ability to take proactive approach in achieving results in areas of responsibility

§ Knowledge of project management and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with high degree of accuracy

§ Capable of maintaining sensitive/confidential information.

§ Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Microsoft 365 software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • Membership/non-profit CRM database management (preferably ChamberMaster)
  • Electronic file sharing systems such as Dropbox or SharePoint
  • Video meeting applications such as Zoom or WebEx

· Must have/maintain a dependable vehicle with proof of license and insurance

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
