Student enrollment in the school district is approximately 25,500 students. There are 20 elementary schools (kindergarten through fifth grade), 8 middle schools (grades six through eight) and five high schools (grades nine through twelve).
With over 3,388 employees, the Douglas County School System is the county's largest employer. The school system's mission is to provide a quality education for all students in a safe, supportive environment.
